A useful search begins with the desired care location, which may be different from where the person researching lives. Think about regular visitors, familiar routines, travel to appointments and the kinds of places you enjoy.
- Stone Oak and the Medical Center are areas people may consider within San Antonio. A neighborhood name alone does not establish a provider’s fit.
- Alamo Heights, Boerne and New Braunfels are separate cities. Explore travel time and local resources rather than assuming they are part of one service territory.
- Try the route at the times family and friends would actually visit. Ask each provider how transportation works.

For aging-services information in Bexar County, the Texas directory lists the Bexar County Area Agency on Aging at 210-477-3275. The Alamo Area Agency on Aging serves the surrounding counties listed in that directory. These are independent public resources, not Beacon or TSLS sales lines.

To research a specific provider, use Texas HHSC’s long-term-care provider search. Search by the provider’s legal name and address. If the search does not load, start with HHSC assisted-living provider information. A listing is not a recommendation or a guarantee of current availability.
